In the early days, members of THIN LIZZY such as John Sykes (guitar) and Brian Downey (dr) also participated. It is this GRAND SLAM that Phil continued even after THIN LIZZY finished their farewell tour in September 1983. In addition to Phil, the lineup includes Lawrence Archer (ex-STAMPEDE\/g), Mark Stanway (MAGNUM\/key), Robbie Brennan (dr), and Doish Nagle (g). They began performing live in April 1984, but Phil suddenly passed away in January 1986.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSome of GRAND SLAM's original songs had already been released during Phil's lifetime, and the single \"Nineteen\" was his last release during his lifetime. ``Military Man'' is a unit of Gary Moore and Phil, and is included on the single ``Out In The Fields''. \"Dedication\" was first included on THIN LIZZY's best album in 1991, but it caused controversy because the label included it without the consent of Phil and Lawrence, who wrote the song (later they reconciled).\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAfter joining UFO in the 1990s and spending some time in the film industry, Lawrence recruited original member Mark Stanway to reunite the band for the festival in 2018. As a result, Lawrence acquired the wonderful vocalist Mike Dyer, and also produced a debut album with Dave Boyce (bass) and Benji Reed (drums). Mark is not a member, but participates in the album as a support keyboard. In 2019, the album ``Hit The Ground'' was released with producer Matt Terry and includes songs from the 1980s written by Phil, Lawrence, and Mark, as well as new songs (Japanese version not yet released).
