The Beatles fans' must-have label has released "20 Greatest Hits," the last greatest hits album of the vinyl era. The newest edited collector's edition of "20 Greatest Hits" is now available on 2CD, featuring selections from each country's vinyl release, including different mixes unique to analog recordings, as well as Beatles medleys and promo recordings. In addition to the 20 tracks from the U.S. edition, this title includes 6 tracks from the U.K. edition and 9 tracks from the Australian edition, which were recorded differently, for a total of 35 tracks, excluding identical tracks. The album also includes the "Beatles Medley," which was born out of the worldwide medley boom of the 1980s, and the "Beatles Medley," which was produced for promotional purposes. The concept of the best album "20 GREATEST HITS" released in December 1982 was to collect the best songs that reached No. 1 on the charts in each country, including the U.S. and the U.K. Therefore, the selection of songs on each 20 album was different. In Australia, the title was changed to "23 THE NUMBER ONES" and in addition to the 20 songs on the album, a 3-song EP was also included. Therefore, the "EXPANDED COLLECTOR'S EDITION" contains 20 songs from the U.S. edition, 6 songs from the U.K. edition, and 9 songs from the Australian edition, for a total of 35 songs, excluding duplicates of the same songs. It is interesting to note not only the differences in the song selections but also the fact that some of the tracks were mixed differently because they were edited from analog masters in each country, as digital remastering was not yet available in those days. In particular, "I Want to Embrace You," which was a stereo mix only for Australia, "I Feel Fine," which was a different mix for the U.S. and U.K., and "Hey Jude," which was a short version for the U.S. only, as well as other songs that were not different mixes were all from analog masters in each country, so they have different sound quality from the current digital The sound quality is different from the current digital remastering. In addition, the album also includes the "Beatles medleys" that emerged from the worldwide medley boom of the 80s, including "Stars On," as well as edited versions created for promotional purposes.
