The first live recording of Bob Dylan's 1988 tour since the highly acclaimed "EAST TROY 1988" is now available. While "EAST TROY" captured the first half of the tour, this time the live performance at Upper Darby on October 13 was recorded. However, not only was this the first day of the final date of the '88 tour, it was also, oddly enough, a very upper-tension show, so you can't miss it. Originally, the '88 tour was a year of high-intensity performances by a simple, hard-playing band led by GE Smith, but by October, Dylan was not only exerting his last ounce of strength, but also injecting even more energy into his live shows and putting on a tremendous stage performance. In October, Dylan was not only exerting his last energy, but also injecting even more energy into his live performances. Let's listen to the actual concert of the day. From "Subterranean Homesick Blues," which was the opening number throughout the year, you can clearly hear Dylan and the band at full power. It was hard to believe that this was the last leg of a tour that had been going on all over the U.S. since June. The performance went on and on in such an upper tension (the compactness of each song is one of the charms of the 1988 tour). Bob Dylan's 115th Dream" was introduced for the first time as a live repertoire at the end of the tour. It was a fast-paced folk-rock song from the album "Bringing It All Back Home," but the band in 1988 turned it into an upper-class, ultra-hard number again. You may be stunned by the straightforward and powerful performance and Dylan's full-throated shouts. The performance was so intense that it was interspersed with an acoustic set by Dylan and the two GEs in the middle of the show, which was very appealing and full of variety. Knockin' On Heaven's Door," which closes the section, begins with an acoustic atmosphere with Dylan in the center, but as soon as Christopher Parker's drums enter, the performance changes to a wild one, which is also excellent. The live performance that folded up at once toward the end of the tour made the audience realize once again how great the 1988 tour was. As for October, a leaked soundboard recording of the New York show on October 19, the last day of the tour, is known to enthusiasts, but it lacks clarity and realism, so it is not so highly regarded. This recording is an audience recording, however, and boasts outstanding clarity and clarity of vision, as well as fine, detailed freshness. The sound quality of the recording is superb, and you will be convinced when you hear it. The sound quality is so excellent that it is a wonder that such an excellent sound source has not been released before.
