Bowie's "SERIOUS MOONLIGHT Tour" was the biggest and longest tour of his career and the most enormously successful. The legendary soundboard album, the masterpiece of the tour, will be reissued. This album is full of the "most" and includes two consecutive performances at the same venue. This is the superb stereo soundboard recording of the "July 12/13, 1983 Montreal Concerts". The official "Serious Moonlight" album cannot be overlooked when talking about the peak of the "Let's Dance" era. This is a masterpiece that goes above and beyond, while being a completely different performance from that very famous show. In order to explain the situation, let's first check the position of the show according to the schedule of the time. April 14: "LET'S DANCE" released] - May 18 - 29: Europe #1 (10 shows) - May 30: US Festivals - June 2 - July 3: Europe #2 (21 shows) - July 11 - September 17: North America (43 shows) ←★here★ - October 20 - 31: Japan (10 shows) - November 4 - 26: Oceania (26 shows) 26: Oceania (10 concerts), Dec. 3-8: Asia (4 concerts) This is the David Bowie of 1983. This was one of the biggest world tours of his career, but the main leg was in North America. This is where this album and the official album "Serious Moonlight" were born, so let's focus on the dates even more. Details of the "North America" leg・July 11: Quebec performance*July 12: Montreal performance ←★DISC 1-2★**July 13: Montreal performance ←★DISC 3-4★・July 15 - September 11 (37 performances)*September 12: Vancouver performance ←←※ Official SERIOUS MOONLIGHT, September 14 + 17 (2 performances) ...... and so on. While the official "SERIOUS MOONLIGHT" was the third show from the end, the two Montreal shows in this film were the first two or three shows. This was a very exciting time for the band as they had just embarked on their quest to conquer North America, their main battleground. In addition to this enthusiasm, what makes this film definitely exceed the official version is the volume of "two full shows recorded in full". The official video "SERIOUS MOONLIGHT" had some songs cut for commercial purposes, and even though the amount was later increased for the CD version, it was far from perfect. In contrast, this album contains no cuts at all. Moreover, since the entire two concerts are included, the album is not merely superior to the official version, it is a "huge victory" over it. Since the two performances are from the same set, let's compare them here. 80's (7 songs) - Let's Dance: Let's Dance/China Girl/Cat People (Putting Out Fire)/Modern Love(★)・Scary Monsters: Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)/Fashion/Ashes To Ashes60s/70s(20 songs)・Berlin Trilogy: Breaking Glass/What In The World/ "Heroes"/Look Back In Anger/Red Sails(★★)・Station To Station:Golden Years/Station To Station/TVC 15(★)/Stay(★)・Others White Light-White Heat / Space Oddity / Life On Mars / Star (★★★) / Cracked Actor / The Jean Genie (★★) / Sorrow / I Can't Explain (★★) / Rebel Rebel / Young Americans / Fame Americans/Fame *Note: Songs marked with "★" are songs that were not heard in the official "Serious Moonlight (video version)". In particular, songs marked with "★★" are songs that were not on the CD version. I have talked about "quantity" so far, but this is definitely a masterpiece in terms of "quality" as well. In fact, the FM broadcast of the second day (DISC 3-4) has long been a major standard, but neither the first day (DISC 1-2) nor the second day (DISC 3-4) in this album are radio airchecks or original broadcast recordings. This is a direct digitization from the original soundboard, which is the origin of the recording. It is not "digitized from the master reel" either. It is a CD of the master recording itself. There is not even a single generation of analog dubbing. This "big original before broadcast" sound is actually an official entanglement as well. In fact, "Modern Love" from the second day in Montreal was adopted as an official single and was also an additional track on the official "SERIOUS MOONLIGHT (CD version)". In other words, this is the complete version of the two performances of the soundboard that was actually used officially. The popularity of the band at the height of their career, the timing of their invasion of North America after their huge success in Europe, the great hits, the physically ultimate sound, and the complete recording (......), which has nothing missing, are all perfect in every way. This is an unbeatable record that can only be called a masterpiece. The best of the "SERIOUS MOONLIGHT Tour", the superb stereo soundboard recordings of the July 12/13, 1983 Montreal shows, neither an aircheck nor the original broadcasts, but direct from the original soundboard used for the official singles. This is the ultimate quality digital version directly from the original soundboard, which was also used for the official singles.
