The classic stereo soundboard recordings from the "EARTHLING" era have been expanded to a complete version. It is now available on 2CD with additional valuable bonus tracks. This album contains the "August 14, 1997 Budapest concert". The main part is a stereo soundboard recording of the performance at the huge festival "PEPSI SZIGET FESTIVAL" in Hungary, and the radio program "LIVE ON THE MORNING X" recorded in Atlanta on April 8, 1997 is also included. This 2-CD set includes a bonus radio program "LIVE ON THE MORNING X" recorded on "April 8, 1997 in Atlanta". Both are the definitive editions of the well-known classic soundboards in their complete and permanent versions. First, let's check the position of the main Dub Pest show in the tour schedule. May 17-June 5: Warm-up gig (4 performances) ・June 7-August 14: Europe (46 performances) ←★here★★ ・September 6-October 23: North America (29 performances) ・October 31-November 7: South America (5 performances) [Main: August 14, 1997 Budapest tour] This is the whole picture of the "EARTHLING TOUR". The Budapest performance in this album is the last day of the "Europe" leg. Bowie had only performed in Hungary twice in his life, in 1990 and 1997, and this was the last show. This show was at the "PEPSI SZIGET FESTIVAL", one of the most famous outdoor festivals in Hungary, which started in 1993 and is relatively new. The festival is a relatively new one that started in 1993, but it has been a huge event with up to 1,000 acts (!) on stage every year and a huge attendance of 260,000 people in 1997 (it was called "STUDENT ISLAND FESTIVAL" when it started, but from 1996 to 2003 it was called "PEPSI SZIGET FESTIVAL" with the sponsor's name). (It was originally called "STUDENT ISLAND FESTIVAL", but from 1996 to 2003 it was called "PEPSI SZIGET FESTIVAL", named after the sponsor, and has been called simply "SZIGET FESTIVAL" since then). ) The stage has been broadcast on FM radio, and has become a staple of the festival that has spawned numerous already-recorded performances. This is the pinnacle of the festival. The last two songs, "Little Wonder" and "White Light / White Heat," were previously not included, but this release combines soundboard and FM recordings to create a complete version of the show. Moreover, it is not only longer, but the quality is also the best ever. We have been updating the best soundboards of all time under the supervision of overseas Bowie researchers, and this is the latest installment. Each and every master that has been circulated up to now has been scrutinized down to the genres and subtle differences in sound, and the best of the best has been determined. Furthermore, the potential of the sound source itself was maximized through precise mastering, and the connection between the soundboard source and the FM source was also eliminated through precise mastering. The accuracy and precision of the sound source knowledge has been proven by numerous masterpiece soundboards, and "EARTHLING TOUR", "NEW YORK MAN" and "BOWIE TO THE RESCUE: PORT CHESTER 1997" are memorable. (There is also "Madison Square Garden 1997 German FM Broadcast," which is in the midst of a great success, but it has a very different atmosphere because it is a special show with a lot of guests). ) In fact, the quality of this work is truly top-notch. In fact, the mix has some Hungarian characteristics of a backward rock country, but that is not a fault, but a beauty. The instrumental sounds (especially the drums) are so vivid that they could never be heard on an official release, and Bowie's voice jumps into your brain without any effects, as if your head were a microphone itself. The stereo sound is also superb, and even though the beauty of every single note is of an official level, it is more than that; it is a soundboard full of a sense of being in sync with Bowie and the band. The show is also wonderful in this quality. The song list is similar to that of "NEW YORK MAN" and "BOWIE TO THE RESCUE," but the song order is significantly different due to the different leg of the tour. What is most refreshing is the opening that folds in the "HUNKY DORY" number. That alone is surprising, especially since the pole position is the quiet "Quicksand," a wistful, acoustic opening. Then the electric guitar comes in and it builds up spectacularly and carries over into "Queen Bitch" (where Bowie shouts "Suck on this!!!! (here Bowie shouts "Suck on this!" which is so cool!) ), and then "Waiting For The Man," which is connected to THE VELVET UNDERGROUND. It is an unexpected yet natural flow. Of course, after that, there were plenty of interesting shows with arrangements unique to the "EARTHLING TOUR". Not only new songs from "EARTHLING" but also boldly new interpretations of classics. The guitar riffs and chorus of "Waiting For The Man" are elaborate, "The Jean Genie," "Fame," and "Stay" have unusual intros, the rhythmic "I'm Afraid Of Americans," and the mysterious "I'm Afraid Of Americans" have a unique synth sound. The Man Who Sold The World" sings as if telling a story over a mysterious synth sound, "Fashion" is reborn as a funky song, and so on. The full 1997 show, including the last song "White Light / White Heat," which could not be heard on "NEW YORK MAN" and "BOWIE TO THE RESCUE," can be enjoyed in superb soundboard. Bonus: Radio program from Atlanta on April 8, 1997] After the Budapest show, a superb radio soundboard recording is included as a bonus. The show was recorded at "SMITH'S OLDE BAR" in Atlanta, and "Dead Man Walking" was also included in the official compilation "99X LIVE X IV "HOME"". Bowie and Reeves Gabrels performed five songs, "Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)," "Seven Years In Tibet," "Dead Man Walking," "The Jean Genie," and "I Can't Read" while answering questions from fans. The band performs acoustic. As a matter of fact, there were quite a few of these radio appearances during the "EARTHLING" era, and they have been included as bonuses on "NEW YORK MAN" and "BOWIE TO THE RESCUE" as well. This work is part of that series, and of particular note is the Cambridge broadcast included in "NEW YORK MAN". In fact, it was recorded on April 8, 1997, the same day as the Atlanta broadcast. Atlanta and Cambridge are about two and a half hours apart by air, and although the content and song list are very similar, they were two one-day sessions with different performances and talks. And this one, like the Budapest performance in the main program, is also the best. This is the best master by a researcher, and the acoustic guitar sounds and singing are powerful. What is wonderful about the sound, as well as the length, is the length of the session. Most of the previous releases have cut out the Q&A with the fans, but this is the complete broadcast version. Not only does it allow the audience to enjoy the laughter-filled mood of the studio, but the scene where they sing "The Supermen" while joking "It's a Paige riff" is also uncensored. Moreover, they sing it a little longer than the Cambridge broadcast. Bowie performed in Hungary only twice in the history of the show, and the at-home radio show. This is a great masterpiece of a live album that completely records both of them in the highest quality in history. This is a masterpiece of a live album, which is the best stereo soundboard album in history, and if combined with "NEW YORK MAN" and "BOWIE TO THE RESCUE", it will be the top trilogy of "EARTHLING TOUR".
