To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the broadcast of Bowie's legendary 1973 TV show "THE 1980 FLOOR SHOW," two versions of the complete rare footage are included in addition to the latest public footage. In 2023, Bowie's movie "Moon Age Dream", which is mainly based on this period of his career, was a worldwide sensation, and after his last performance as Ziggy Stardust, Bowie released the 60's bar album "Pinups", which could be called his starting point. After finishing his last performance as Ziggy Stardust, Bowie released the album "Pinups" and his next challenge was "The 1980 Floor Show," which was produced as a TV show. This was a special program aired for two weeks on the popular U.S. music TV program "Midnight Special" in 1973, and was filmed in a studio live format at a rented out marquee club in London with a fan club audience. The program included a new unreleased song "1984/Doo Doo," covers from "Pinups," "Space Oddity," and "Gene Genie," as well as guest appearances by Marianne Faithfull, The Troggs, and Carmen. In addition. The film was broadcast in the U.S. on NBC-TV's "Midnight Special" in November 1973, right after the shooting, and was also broadcast in Japan in the late-night slot at the time, so although it was not officially filmed, a number of various videos have been circulated so far. In this 50th anniversary edition, the footage from that time was finally distributed and released in 2023, and it can finally be seen as the master quality. In addition, the audio has been remastered in multi-track stereo from the original TV broadcast mono sound source. The quality of the DVD is therefore of a different dimension from anything that has been distributed in the past, and the definitive version of the video is included as the "original TV master". In addition, guest scenes that were cut from the TV broadcast and the main footage of Bowie himself are recorded from different angles from the broadcast, and pre-edited rehearsal footage is included as a "Complete Alternate Edition," which includes all guest performances not broadcast on TV. The CD also contains the latest multi-track stereo remastering of the original mono recordings on DVD, and is a must-have limited collector's edition of Bowie's last appearance as "Ziggy Stardust" in the Glam era.
