Two new masterpieces from the amazing DIAMOND DOGS TOUR, including the rare "Drive In Saturday," will be released simultaneously. One of them is "TORONTO", which is a masterpiece of the "DIAMOND DOGS TOUR". One of them is "TORONTO 1974 AFTERNOON SHOW" and the other is this masterpiece. The other is a vintage audio recording of the June 22, 1974 Detroit show. Speaking of "Detroit in 1974", there is a masterpiece "DETROIT 1974" which has been very popular in our store, but this is a completely different show. First of all, let's start with an overview of the activities in 1974 to explain the situation. The final leg, "North America #3" was different in members and direction, and was called "THE SOUL/PHILLY DOGS TOUR" and treated as a separate tour. In this tour, there were 2 shows in Detroit in "North America #1" and 6 shows in "North America #3". The previous album "DETROIT 1974" was a coupling of the two representative recordings of "North America #3", whereas this album is a record of "North America #1". This is a new master that has only recently been unearthed, and it was also discovered by the famous "DETROIT 1974" master. The master is from the famous "JEMS". The sound is truly superb. What is most impressive is the vivid directness and crisp edges of the sound, with vivid performance sounds and voices like laser beams penetrating the air, which is exceptionally clear for the early 1970s, with almost no sagging or distortion. While not soundboard-like denseness, the vividness of the sound is at the level of a line recording. However, although the freshness of the JEMS unearthed master was overwhelming, there were some pitch deviations that probably occurred during the dubbing process. This may be the truth of the master, but in this work, the emphasis was placed on the concert site rather than the master. The pitch has been set to an accurate level. And what is even more wonderful than such sound is the length. In fact, the previous master also sounded great, but there were cuts in the middle. The JEMS master does not have that problem, and the full show is included. And the extra part is the important "Drive In Saturday". As mentioned in the commentary of "TORONTO 1974 AFTERNOON SHOW" released at the same time, this song is almost the same as "North America #1" and is a rare song that cannot be heard on the official "DAVID LIVE" or soundboard album "DEFINITIVE LOS ANGELES 1974". Although it can be heard on "TORONTO 1974 AFTERNOON SHOW", there was a cut in the middle of the song. However, there is no cut in the middle of the song in this album. You can seamlessly experience the dramatic development of the song as Bowie's singing voice, played on acoustic guitar, reaches a fever pitch, and David Sanborn's saxophone rises in response.
