A secret mini-tour connecting "1. OUTSIDE" and "EARTHLING", known as the "BALLROOM TOUR". This is the masterpiece live album that serves as the masterpiece of the tour. This mini-tour is truly an unexplored region. The "OUTSIDE TOUR" lasted until July 1996, after which Bowie produced "EARTHLING". It was released the following February 1997, but before that, he did a mini-tour of only four cities on the East Coast (Philadelphia, Washington DC, Boston, and New York) and began to release new songs little by little. This is a superb audience recording of the site of that mini-tour, the September 7, 1996 Washington, DC concert. First, let's look at the position of this mini-tour in the schedule of the time. 1995《September 25 "OUTSIDE" released》・September 14-October 31: North America #1 (27 shows) ・November 14-December 13: UK (16 shows) ・1996: January 17-February 20: Europe #1 (23 shows) ・June 4-13: Japan (7 shows) ・June 18-July 21: June 18-July 21: Europe #2 (22 performances) 《August "EARTHLING" production》・September 6-14: North America #2 (4 performances)←★Coco★・October 19+20: BRIDGE BENEFIT CONCERT performance・October 24: VH-1 FASHION AWARDS This was the schedule at that time. EARTHLING" was produced in August 1996, and the "BALLROOM TOUR" was "North America #2," which took place immediately after that. The Washington, D.C. concert in this album is the second concert of the "BALLROOM TOUR". All four concerts of the "BALLROOM TOUR" have been audience recorded, and this is considered to be the best of them. It was recorded from a low-gen master, which is so fresh that even a Bowie researcher said, "It must be almost the same as the original DAT recording. Of course, no matter how good the master is, if the recording itself is bad, it will be ruined, but there is no need to worry about that in this work. The recording is overwhelmingly on. The realistic frenzy and snare sound of the venue are audience-like, but other than that, there are almost no other characteristics of an audience recording. The extremely thick core gives no sense of distance, and the hall rumbles are so faint that even if you listen carefully with headphones, you can't hear them. The sense of intimacy and closeness of a club-sized room is overwhelming, and this is a rare masterpiece recording that allows you to feel the presence of a superstar like Bowie right in front of your eyes. Moreover, this album brushes up such a superb recording by further meticulous mastering. The original sound was amazingly clear and direct, but the range was a little narrow and flat. In this work, the sound of each register was carefully examined to greatly improve the sound. As a result, the sound is now so clear that each note has its own three-dimensionality. The show depicted with such sound is truly a bridge between the "OUTSIDE TOUR" and the "EARTHLING TOUR". We have also introduced "BRIDGE BENEFIT 1996 MASTER", which was a special acoustic trio show, whereas this is the second half of the "OUTSIDE TOUR" and the "EARTHLING TOUR". EARTHLING TOUR". The five members, Reeves Gabrels, Gail Ann Dorothy, Zachary Alford, and Mike Garson, will perform a show that continues the "OUTSIDE TOUR". Speaking of the latter half of the "OUTSIDE TOUR", there is also the great soundboard "LORELEY 1996", but it is not the same thing. Not only is "Strangers When We Meet" back, but because it was right after the "EARTHLING" sessions, two songs are performed: one is TIN MACHINE's "Baby Universal"; the other is "LORELEY 1996," which was released in the late 1990s. This song was re-recorded for the "EARTHLING" recording, but was not included in the final version. You can enjoy a live performance that recalls that new version. Another song is "Little Wonder". "This is not the first performance of the song, as it was also performed on the first day of the BALLROOM TOUR in Philadelphia, but this is the second time it has been performed on this album. This is the second time Bowie boldly challenged new sounds as he approached his 50th birthday. This is a masterpiece of a live album that allows you to enjoy the "BALLROOM TOUR," which was at the forefront of Bowie's music, in superb sound. This is a masterpiece of the Missing Link, which is different from "OUTSIDE TOUR" and "EARTHLING TOUR. Capitol Ballroom, Washington, D.C.
