This work is a highlight album of the mammoth box set "50 HEAVY METAL YEARS OF MUSIC". The songs were selected by the band and their ally Tom Allom, who has produced many of their important works, and includes nine previously released songs (six studio tracks and three live tracks) that are not singles but are extremely popular among fans, as well as seven unreleased live tracks.

The Japanese version is a high quality Blu-spec CD2 version.
