Aborted is a death metal band from Belgium. The band was formed in 1995 by Sven de Calve, who remains the frontman (and the only remaining original member). Their album debut was ``The Purity of Perversion'' in 1999. He went on to release three albums: Engineering the Dead (2001), Goremageddon: The Saw and the Carnage Done (2003), and The Archaic Abattoir (2005). Aborted steadily grew into a popular band through high-quality productions and active touring, and was awarded a contract with major company Century Media. Aborted have continued to release albums every few years since then, and are now arguably one of the most important bands in death metal. I'm sure there are many people who have come to Japan and experienced that overwhelming stage.
This is their 11th studio album titled "Mania Cult". Regarding ``Mania Cult'', which combines the technicality of their previous album ``TerrorVision'' (2018) with the dark atmosphere of the ``La Grande Mascarade'' EP (2020), Sven exudes great confidence, saying, ``The dynamics of the songs have increased dramatically.We've created a darker atmosphere without losing the extremeness.Although it includes some of the fastest songs in the band's history, it hasn't lost any of its groove or catchiness.'' The album certainly lives up to these words. It's a rollercoaster album with so much variety that there's never a dull moment. The dark atmosphere will appeal not only to death metal fans, but also to black metal lovers.
