Earthless is a psychedelic rock trio from San Diego. Formed in 2001. Debuted with the album ``Sonic Prayer'' in 2005. Their second album, ``Rhythms from a Cosmic Sky,'' was released in 2007 by T-P Records, a prestigious label in psychedelic rock. They became hugely popular in the psychedelic, doom and stoner circles and eventually signed with German giant Nuclear Blast. ``Black Heaven'' in 2018 was released here in Japan, and it was a huge shock to extreme music fans.

This time, Earthless's new album will be released. They have pursued spacey, psychedelic music by fusing and sublimating hard rock and krautrock such as Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, but their previous album ``Black Heaven'' was a relatively ``ordinary'' work, with shorter songs and vocals. This is just a matter of Earthless standards. But this time it's different. Only two songs are included: a 40-minute long song and a 20-minute long song. (The 40-minute song is divided into Part 1 and Part 2 for convenience.) There are no vocals. As a Japanese person, I'm probably also interested in the artwork. The title ``Night Parade of One Hundred Demons'' clearly indicates the theme of this work. Bassist Mike Edgington's son is into monsters and ghosts, which led him to Japan's Hyakki Yako. It's true that some of the songs feature Japanese-style phrases that are reminiscent of Flower Travelin' Band, and you can't help but smile. Of course, it's also a great psychedelic rock song!
