Hangman's Chair, a French band that advocates ``cold doom'' that encompasses everything from doom metal, hardcore, gothic to shoegaze, has released a new album. This work, which has the theme of "solitude", is dark, heavy, and beautiful!

Hangman's Chair is a French metal band. Formed in 2005. In 2007, he made his album debut with “(A Lament for…)The Addicts”. At the time, they were playing a southern rock style reminiscent of Down, but their musicality has become more diverse with each album, including ``Leaving Paris'' (2010), ``Hope///Dope///Rope'' (2012), ``This Is Not Supposed to be Positive'' (2015), and ``Banlieue triste'' (2018). From hardcore to Type O Negative, Alice in Chains, Sisters of Mercy, and even shoegaze, they have reached a style full of originality that they call ``Cold Doom.''

They signed a contract with Europe's major Nuclear Blast Records. They will be releasing their 6th album ``A Lawner''. As the title suggests, this work has the theme of ``loneliness'' and is dark, heavy, and beautiful. Similarly, France's Alcest succeeded in gaining fans outside of black metal with their unique aesthetic, and you can feel the same flavor in this Hangman's Chair. This album is sure to appeal not only to doom metal fans, but also to fans of Katatonia and Fields of the Nephilim, as well as post-metal fans, and is sure to help Hangman's Chair become even more mainstream.
