Journey, the legendary American rock band. Its formation dates back to 1973. In the early days, they were characterized by a progressive style, but after the addition of Steve Perry (Vo), they changed direction to a pop style and continued to have a string of hits. The album ``Escape'' released in 1981 reached number 1 on the US charts. Even if you don't know Journey's name, you've probably heard songs such as "Don't Stop Believin'" from this album and "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)", the opening number of the 1983 masterpiece "Frontiers", on TV at least once. After that, they went through many twists and turns, including Steve's departure and several disbandments and revivals, but they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. He has become a legend both in name and reality.

Journey is finally releasing a new album. The gorgeous melodies and harmonies, as well as a slightly progressive flavor, are truly unique to Journey. ``It's definitely a Journey, but it's not a rehash of the past,'' boasts leader and guitarist Neal Schon, and this album, titled ``Freedom,'' offers an even more powerful and renewed Journey. One of the highlights of this album is his guitar, which he says, ``played freely, like he was playing live, without holding anything back.''

The participating members are of course Arnel Pineda, who is the vocalist. Jonathan Cain is also familiar with the keyboard. Playing drums in place of Dean Castronovo is Narada Michael Walden, a famous drummer known for his participation in the Mahavishnu Orchestra and Jeff Beck's "Wired." (Dean only participates in the chorus on one song.) The bassist is Randy Jackson, who is also famous as a judge on ``American Idol,'' and a lineup of top-notch musicians.

It's been 11 years since their previous album "Eclipse", and this is Journey's new work that all rock fans have been waiting for. I'm also happy with the huge volume of over 70 minutes with 15 songs!
