It's no exaggeration to say that Powerwolf is currently the most popular German metal band. The gap between the intense whitewashed look, the thoroughly occult image such as werewolf legends and vampires, and the orthodox power metal sound has a huge impact. It was formed in 2004. The following year, he suddenly made his album debut with the prestigious Metal Blade with ``Return in Bloodred''. After releasing ``Lupus Dei'' (2007), ``Bible of the Beast'' (2009), and ``Blood of the Saints'' (2011), he transferred to Austrian major Napalm Records. Their fifth album, ``Preachers of the Night,'' released in 2013, was a huge hit, reaching No. 1 on the local German charts. Powerwolf became the frontrunners of the European metal scene. It is still fresh in our minds that their latest studio album ``Call of the Wild'' (21), which featured a heavy orchestra and choir, once again received tremendous support from power metal fans.

Now, Powerwolf will be releasing a live album titled ``The Monumental Mass: A Cinematic Metal Event.'' This work is a recording of their live streaming held on December 17, 2021. Naturally, this event was more than just playing songs. The stage set is not particularly luxurious, but its contents are also very fulfilling. This day's stage, which took months of careful preparation, was a theatrical performance featuring numerous actors and dancers. The script, which perfectly matches their occultic worldview, is a masterpiece. The name "Cinematic Metal Event" truly lives up to its name. The quality is such that it can be called a movie. The organ that ejects fire from the pipes every time you press a key is so cool!
