A genuine second album released by NWOBHM legendary band WHITE SPIRIT after 40 years!
In 1980, they released the single ``Back to the Grind'' from NEAT, followed by two singles from MCA in the same year, followed by their debut album ``White Spirit.'' Yannick Guards (guitar), who later joined IRON MAIDEN, was taken out by Ian Gillan and replaced by current TANK's Mick Tucker (guitar) (of course, he has the same name as THE SWEET's Dr.). The bass was also changed, Brian Howe (vo), who was unknown at the time, was added to the vocals, and Colin Towns, Gillan's key player, was in charge of production, and although production began on the second album, it was never completed and was shelved. After that, the band disbanded and went into silence for 40 years.
After Brian Howe moved to the United States and played in the Ted Nugent Band, he won the position of vocalist for BAD COMPANY and released an album in the top 40 in the United States, and went on to be active as a solo artist. Bassist Toby Sadler joins AIRRACE, and key player Colm Pearson joins THE SWEET after retiring (1988). Mick Tucker has been a regular member of TANK since their 1983 album “This Means War,” and will be visiting Japan for the second time in 2019. It seemed like WHITE SPIRIT had completely disappeared from history as each member went their own way, but on May 6, 2020, Mal and Mick started to keep in touch after the tragic event of Brian Howe's sudden death from a pre-existing heart condition. And while talking about the tape that recorded that second song...but it was completely missing. But as fate would have it, Mal decided to move to France, and while cleaning out the furniture, she found four dusty recording tapes from Chiswick Studios!
With that as an opportunity, they decided to release (their second album). In order to fill in the unfinished parts, especially the rhythm section, which was an old recording, was re-recorded with Neil Murray (d/WHITESNAKE, etc.) and Russell Gilbrook (dr/URIAH HEEP), and the lead vocals were the original take of Brian Howe, with three new famous singers (Jeff Scott Sort, Lee Small, and Steve Overland) participating!
Of course, Mick and Maru completed the guitar and keyboard by adding and re-recording the necessary parts. Additionally, Pontus Norgren (HAMMERFALL), who handles the mix and mastering of the album, and Mick's ally Cliff Evans (TANK) are participating as additional guitar players. Therefore, this album is WHITE SPIRIT's second album in the true sense of the word, and of course it is a must-listen album dedicated to Brian Howe, who sings on most of the album.
