Swedish melancholic metal band Katatonia has released their 12th album. As the title suggests, ``A Starless Sky,'' the film unfolds a beautiful, gloomy, and poetic world. This is dark art. A must-listen for gothic metal fans as well as those who like European lyrical metal.

Katatonia is a Swedish melancholic metal band. Its formation dates back to 1991. They originally played doomy death metal. Their album debut was ``Dance of December Souls'' in 1993. Their second album, ``Brave Murder Day'' in 1996, is a masterpiece of lyrical death metal, and is a masterpiece in the history of extreme metal. Katatonia later introduced clean vocals and increased their gothic elements, successfully appealing to a wider range of fans. They have grown into a very popular band.

They have released their first new album in three years, ``Sky Void of Stars''. This work, which is the first to be transferred to Napalm Records, is exactly as the title suggests, ``Starless Sky.'' Regarding this work, Anders, the band's brainchild, speaks in a very poetic way, saying, ``We condensed what was lost and can never be found again, what was born from a longing for a realm that can never be reached, and presented it with sounds and words that are typical of Katatonia.'' A gloomy but beautiful world reminiscent of long winter nights in Northern Europe. This is dark art, this is melancholic metal. This is a must-listen work not only for Gothic metal fans but also for those who like European lyrical metal.
