Rise of the North Star is a French crossover band that loves Japan. Formed in 2008 with the concept of ``five young French men playing American music inspired by Japanese manga,'' they debuted with the album ``Welcome'' in 2014. The band's name comes from ``Fist of the North Star,'' and the look where everyone is a schoolboy is inspired by ``Slam Dunk'' and ``Rookies.'' Their musical style was extremely cool, mixing metal, rap, hardcore punk, and manga, and they quickly became a popular band. In 2018, he released his second album, ``The Legacy of SHI~SHI's Tradition.'' This work also includes many quotations from familiar manga such as ``Fist of the North Star'', ``DRAGON QUEST -The Great Adventure of Dai'', and ``Dragon Ball'', making it a work that strongly conveys their love for Japan.

They have released their first new album in five years. Even in this work titled ``Showdown'', the band name is written in Japanese, the artwork is Japanese-style animation, and it is full of Japan love as usual. Furthermore, the sound with an increased sense of groove has been refined, and it is no wonder that they boast that it is ``by far the best work in the band's history.'' The mixer was Johan Mayer, known for his work with Gojira. Mastering was done by master Ted Jensen.
