Lugnet, formed by Angel Witch drummer Frederik Jansson and further deepening from 70's hard rock to 80's metal, has announced their third album in 3 years!
Frederic Jansen-Punka is a drummer who has played in many dark DOOM bands such as ABRAMIS BRAMA, COUT RAVEN, and WITCHCRAFT, and has been joining ANGEL WITCH and coming to Japan since 2016. He met bassist Renato "Z" Zesson at the 2009 "Sweden Rock Festival", they hit it off, and they arranged a jam session.Three years later, the promise came to fruition, and the band "Lugnet" was formed with guitarists Vonden Jansson and McCann Holten, and vocalist Roger Solander.
Following their 2014 single, they released their debut album ``Lugnet'' in 2016, which attracted a lot of attention for its 70's hard rock sound and stoner style jacket. However, after that, the guitar was changed to Matti Noreen, and the vocals were changed to Johan Fahlberg, who is also the singer of the melodic metal band JADED HEART, which is popular in Japan.In 2019, they released "NIGHTWALKER", and in 2022, the band added guitarist Michael Linder and became a new five-piece formation with twin guitars and will release their long-awaited third album.
The album was recorded with the full participation of fellow Swedish guitarists Simon Johansson of WOLF/MEMORY GARDEN and Mike Weed of KING DIAMOND/MERCYFUL FATE. With ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA's "Evil Doctor" Karl Westholm on keyboards, and Marcus Idel of AVATARIUM and former ROYAL HUNT on the mix, the previous two albums, which were immersed in the 70's cult heavy rock sound, have been further deepened, creating a masterpiece that will take on the world stage while still embodying a Swedish identity!
