AMUSIE, the secret weapon of melodic power metal from Nagoya, is finally here wearing scrubs!
AMUSIE was formed in 2011 by four doctors. The central characters, Mano (b) and Kinoshita (g), met in 1995 when they were medical students and began working together. After graduating from medical school, the two of them became doctors after a long hiatus, and they met again and resumed their activities. Later, Ito (dr.) and Inukai (vocals) also joined, and the band started to move forward.
While all of them work as clinicians, they have been working steadily on an irregular basis, producing a self-produced CD in 2014, and in 2019 supporting Australian glam rockers KAATO and Norwegian prog metal popular Circus Maximus in their Nagoya performance. In such a situation, if you go back to the song production, this album "Heavy Metal Doctors" was created after about 5 years. Led by Mano, who is also a producer, the band produced a selection of songs specializing in "power metal", and although the recording period spanned about three years, including the corona period, the work was successfully completed.
The mix and mastering of the album was handled by Fredrik Nordström, who worked on ARCH ENEMY, IN FLAMES, HAMMERFALL, DREAM EVIL, etc. and is currently one of the top producers in the metal world! We have completed an album "Heavy Metal Doctors" that perfectly matches the sound of European power metal!
In addition to the sound, the first thing that catches your attention is the emotional high tone of the vocals, Inukai. Furthermore, guitarist Kinoshita's solid, melodious, slow-paced playing, six-string bassist Mano's overwhelmingly technical bass, and drummer Ito's stable and speedy drumming while making full use of the double bass are also worth mentioning.
The band will carry out this album in Tokyo in September, and in October in their home Nagoya, where they will perform on record. AMUSIE is a band with a scale that is hard to believe for a Japanese band! A real power metal band that can appeal greatly to Japanese metal fans has appeared once again!
