Metal Church, the originators of American power and thrash metal, has overcome the deaths of two singers and released a new album!
Metal Church, which has been the true champion of American heavy metal for over 30 years since its formation in 1980, has released their 13th new album!
The band's central figure, Kurt Vanderhoof (guitar), established a unique power metal sound with dark riffs that pioneered thrash metal, and their first album, released in 1984, had a great influence on subsequent bands such as Metallica's Lars. Although they gained popularity by producing the rare singers David Wayne and Mike Howe, they temporarily stopped their activities in 1994. After that, Kurt resumed his activities, and with the change of singers such as Ronnie Munro of the current Vicious Rumors, who will be visiting Japan this time, Mike Howe made a miraculous return after 20 years in 2015, and by 2018 he had released two albums and returned to Japan. In 2020, they released "From The Vault ~ Metal Vault ~" from Rubicon Music and just as they entered their golden age again, Mike Howe suddenly passed away, and the band suffered a great loss, but Kurt worked hard to keep the band going, and in 2023, Mark Lopez, former singer of Manowar's band Los the Bosses, joined the band and released the long-awaited new album "Congregation of Annihilation” and the masterpiece has been completed!
Mark Lopez, who is attracting attention, shows off his wonderful singing that inherits David and Mike! The songs on the album can truly be called metal church, and are a great performance that will leave even long-time fans drinking in their mouths. The current band consists of Kurt, Mark, Rick Van Zandt (g) and Steve Unger (b) who have been supporting Kurt since 2012, and Stet Howland (dr), who is well known as a member of W.A.S.P. since the 90's and has been with the band since 2017! In addition to overseas bonuses, the Japanese version also includes a Japanese version bonus track!
