Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the band's formation, the second release for 3 consecutive months! “BRUTALIZE” (1991) and “SURROUNDED BYFOES” (1990: first CD) released by P.M.A RECORDS have been coupled and finally reissued!

The second installment of the 3-month consecutive reissue commemorating the 40th anniversary of the band ROSEROSE is a coupling reissue of "BRUTALIZE" (1991) and "SURROUNDED BY FOES" (1990: first CD) released by P.M.A RECORDS!

``BRUTALIZE'' (1991) was the first CD release from the label P.M.A RECORDS, which ROSEROSE himself founded, and was the first full-length album with the addition of YACHI (G), a twin guitar system, and a shift towards a death metal sound. It had a truly groundbreaking sound in the Japanese scene in 1991, and is undoubtedly one of the earliest death metal works of historical importance.

The vocal style is completely death voice, twin guitars with outstanding weight, low center of gravity bass that crawls on the ground, drums with hard sound making, and the influence it had on the underground scene that followed is an immeasurable masterpiece. Also, the memorable P.M.A RECORDS' first release, "SURROUNDED BY FOES" (1990: P.M.A001), was released only on cassette at the time, and this is the first time it has been released on CD.

Tracks 14 to 16, the A-side of the cassette, are called “GIG SIDE” and include three live sound sources. Tracks 17-21, the B-side, are called "DEMO SIDE" and include 5 studio-recorded songs (2 of which are covers of DISCHARGE and HERESY). They aim for a very heavy sound, and the sound production also has industrial elements. This is the second reissue of an important work that can be called an archive of Japanese death metal.
