Paul McCartney & Wings' masterpiece ``Band on the Run''

50th anniversary edition. First recording of an unreleased "underdubbed" mix.

CD2 includes the main album and an "underdubbed" mix with the same songs as the US original version. A double-sided foldable poster featuring a Polaroid photo taken by Linda McCartney is included.

Paul McCartney describes this "underdubbed" mix as follows:

"This is 'Band on the Run' like no one has ever heard before. When you write a song and add extra guitar parts and other parts to it, it's called an 'overdub.' This version is 'underdubbed,' or the other way around."

The "underdubbed" mix allows you to enjoy the nine classic songs from Band on the Run without any additional orchestral parts. This previously unreleased rough mix was created on October 14, 1973 by Geoff Emerick with assistance from Peter Swettenham at AIR Studios. As noted below, the song order is different from previous releases, but this is based on the order of the original analog tapes found in MPL's warehouse.

Band on the Run, which topped the charts, won multiple Grammy Awards, and remained a regular on the list of greatest albums of all time for decades after its release, was originally released in December 1973. The timeless title song "Band on the Run," the worldwide hit "Jet," the melancholy "Bluebird," the beloved live classic "Let Me Roll It," and the interesting change in sound of "Picasso's Testament." ” and the climactic song “1985,” ``Band on the Run'' is arguably Wings' most successful and acclaimed work in history.
