Korpiklaani is a folk metal band from Finland. It was in 1993 that vocalist Jonne Jarvela, who is still the face of the band, formed the unit that became the parent unit, Shamaani Duo. In 1996, she made her debut album with "Hunka Lunka". This work was an ethnic music piece with no metal elements, consisting mainly of acoustic guitar, keyboard, percussion, and singing called yoik. The following year, in 1997, Shamaani Duo added a bassist and drummer and transformed into a band called Shaman. In the album ``Idja'' released in 1999, heavy guitars can be heard, and metal colors appear. After that, when Yonne made a guest appearance on Finntroll's album, the metal movement accelerated. In 2003, they introduced violin, accordion, and flute, and switched their vocal style from ethnic to metal. This is where Korpiklaani as we know it today was born.

In the same year, he signed a contract with Austrian major Napalm Records and released his debut album under the name Korpiklaani, ``Spirit of the Forest.'' They quickly became one of Finland's leading metal bands. After releasing four albums on Napalm, including ``Voice of Wilderness'' (2005), ``Tales Along This Road'' (2006), and ``Tervaskanto'' (2007), he transferred to Nuclear Blast Records, the top label in the metal world. Its popularity remained constant.

Now, they will be releasing their 12th new album, ``Korpi and Onsen Chishin no Tabi''. Jonne says the following about this album, which was created with the addition of Olli Vänskä, a violinist from fellow Finnish folk metal band Turisas, as a new member. "When I started making this album, I set a goal. Recent albums, especially 2018's 'Nordic Korpi Solitary Journey', were a little slow overall, so this time I wanted to make an album with a faster tempo. Like the Korpiklaani of old." Are there any better words for Korpiklaani fans of the past?As Jonne says, from the beginning of the album, the album explodes with fast-paced numbers that can be said to be a return to the early days that fans have been waiting for.
