Riot, a heavy metal band that is very popular in Japan, has released their first new album in six years. This time, power metal full of lyricism and aggression, which was perfected on the famous album "Thundersteel" (1988), will explode!

Riot is an American heavy metal band that is very popular here in Japan. Its formation dates back to 1975. "Warrior" from their debut album "Rock City" released in 1977 is a timeless masterpiece that no heavy metal fan knows. After that, they released ``Narita'' (1979), ``Fire Down Under'' (1981), ``Restless Breed'' (1982), and ``Born in America'' (1983), before disbanding in 1984. In 1986, they reunited with all members except Mark Leary (G). Their 1988 comeback album ``Thundersteel'', which suddenly became more aggressive, is a masterpiece. The addition of Don Van Stavan (B) from the cult speed metal band S.A.Slayer added speed and aggression to Riot's lyricism, and chemistry ignited.

After that, they continued to perform smoothly, but in 2012 they suffered a major tragedy. The band's founder and leader, Mark Leary, suddenly passed away from a subarachnoid hemorrhage. The remaining members, Mike Fritz (G) and Don Van Stavan, decided to carry on Mark's legacy and continue the band. In 2014, he released "Unleash the Fire" and also appeared at Loud Park 14. It impressed Japanese fans that Mark's spirit is immortal.

Riot will now release their long-awaited new album, ``Mean Streets.'' This is the first work in 6 years since the previous work "Armor of Light", and the 17th work in total. Naturally, this time too, the power metal full of lyricism and aggression that was perfected in "Thundersteel" explodes. Overflowing energy and a melancholy melody that metal fans will love. This is Riot, this is a masterpiece that makes you want to call it heavy metal. If you like heavy metal, this is a must-have.

The mix was handled by Danger Danger bassist Bruno Ravel.
