Three members of Finland's legendary melodic death/power metal band, Norther, reunited and formed a new band called Crownshift, releasing their debut album! A catchy and aggressive masterpiece that sublimates everything from melodic death to heavy metal, progressive rock, and pop!

Daniel Freiberg (G) of Children of Bodom, Jukka Koskinen (B) of Nightwish and Wintersun, Heikki Saari (Dr) of Finntroll, and Tomi Tuovinen (Vo) of Mygrain. Crownshift is a new band that brings together these giants of the Finnish extreme metal scene. In fact, Daniel, Yukka, and Heikki were once active in the melodic death/power metal band Norther. However, the band disbanded in 2012. At that time, they vowed to ``someday do something together.'' In 2019, that vow finally came to fruition as Crownshift.

What will be released this time is their debut album bearing the band name. Speaking about the album, Daniel says, ``Melodic death metal is of course the most important style for us, but we've gone through a lot over the years and our sound has become much richer.'' As the name suggests, the songs recorded here are based on melodic death metal, but incorporate heavy metal, rock, and even pop and progressive rock, making them truly ambitious. Dirty vocals and clean singing intertwine. Catchy melodies, beautiful harmonies. Some songs are intense, while others are atmospheric and slow. This is the sound and style unique to Crownshift. A new star band has appeared from the metal powerhouse of Finland.
