Formed in Greece in 1987 by brothers Sakis and Themis Tolis, they were one of the earliest underground extreme music bands in southern Europe, including his hometown. When they first formed, they released demo recordings in a grind core style, but they gradually became inspired by VENOM and CELTIC FROST, and eventually established a musical style that leans more toward black metal. Since the release of their debut album in 1993, they have released 13 albums in the space of 2-3 years, and while their ominous name has caused controversy around the world, they have performed over 1,300 live shows and tours in total, and have continued their activities without stopping even once. In 2014, they also performed in Japan.
Based on black metal, they incorporate doom/gothic/industrial elements and continue to update without losing their extremeness. The lyrics deal with evil and the occult, and consistently explore the contradictions inherent in religion. As the name suggests, the ominousness is consistent. This work is the latest work, 5 years after the previous work "The Heretics" (2019). Produced by Sakis Tolis himself, pursuing a gothic and symphonic worldview. It expresses grandeur with the motif of the Pagan King.
