Voices of Bacheproto, a girl metal band from Indonesia, one of Asia's leading metal powerhouses, has taken the world by storm with its strong groove metal sound, strong message, and visuals featuring people wearing hijab, and they have finally released their world's first CD! Additionally, a cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman" is included as a bonus track!

Indonesia is known as a metal powerhouse, with President Joko Widodo professing to be a metal fan and large-scale concerts held there. On the other hand, it is also known for its strict regulations, with punks being detained by Islamic religious police. In such a society, Voice of Bacheproto (VOB) stands up with metal as a “struggle”! In 2014, three teenage girls Firda Marsya Kurnia (vocals, guitar), Widi Rahmawati (bass), and Euis Siti Aisyah (drums) formed a band in Singajaya, a small village on the outskirts of Garut, West Java, influenced by the likes of System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, and Metallica. At first, they played cover songs, but they rose to prominence with their original songs. Their extreme sound, outstanding technique, lyrics with a strong message mixed in English and Sundanese, and visuals of them wearing hijab in their hair have become a hot topic on social media and have caused a stir in the metal scene around the world. The girls made their official debut with the single "School Revolution" in 2018, and in 2021 they had an interview with Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello, in 2022 they performed at Germany's Wacken Open Air, the world's largest metal festival, and in 2023 they held their first North American tour, steadily stepping up their path to world domination.

VOB's first full-length album ``RETAS'' is the culmination of their 10-year journey and a prelude to a new struggle. Their realistic message is delivered with heavy riffs, crunching grooves, and earth-shaking rhythms. ``What's the Holy (Nobel) Today?'' is an anti-war song that urges ``STOP WAR!'' and ``PMS'' refers to ``Perempuan Merdeka Seutuhnya = Completely Free Woman.'' ``The Enemy of Earth Is You'' presents a pessimistic perspective that ``humans are the enemy of the earth,'' while ``(Not) Public Property'' is a protest song against the sexual exploitation of women. The girls are sometimes viewed as hostile by some local conservatives, but in "God, please me (please) to play music," they claim, "I'm not a criminal or an enemy. I just want to sing my heart's content." There is no doubt that this sincere attitude makes their music even more dynamic and urgent.
