Epica, the Dutch symphonic metal band led by songstress Simone Simons, has released a long-awaited new album! A new dimension album that pursues a more dynamic and organic sound while retaining the gorgeous symphonic and progressive arrangements!

Epica is the pride of the Netherlands, a symphonic metal powerhouse. After leaving After Forever, Mark Jansen started a project called Sahara Dust in 2002. Simone Simmons, who is now the face of the band, joined them, and in 2003, they changed their name to the current Epica and released their first album, ``The Phantom Agony.'' The heavy, symphonic songs and Simone's singing became a big hit, and the girls quickly became a popular band. Since then, they have consistently released high quality albums. Epica became one of the leading symphonic metal bands in the Netherlands.

Epica will be releasing a new album for the first time in four years. This work is titled ``Aspiral''. The title was inspired by the work of a Polish sculptor named Stanisław Szukalski. The keyword this time is teamwork. The theme was to eliminate each person's ego. All members participated in the songwriting process, and in order to capture the energy of the live performance, everyone came together to perform during the recording. The resulting work is organic and dynamic. Of course, I was surprised to see that the choir, symphonic, and progressive arrangements were also increasingly refined. It's a great finish that makes sense as the members said, ``Epica has reached the next level!'' A must-listen for not only symphonic/gothic metal fans, but all heavy metal fans!
