●The latest EP "Black Star" from Candlemas, a legendary Swedish band that advocates epic doom metal and continues to influence subsequent bands as one of the pioneers, is now available.

●Debuted in 1986 with “Epicus Doumicus Metallicus”. The sound known as epic doom metal, which interweaves doom metal directly descended from Black Sabbath with melancholy melodies unique to Europe, was established the following year in 1987 with ``Nightfall,'' produced with vocalist Messiah Marcolin. Although there was a period of hiatus, they resumed their activities in the late 1990s and continue to this day. In 2016, on the 30th anniversary of their debut, they visited Japan for the first time at Loud Park 16. Original singer Johan Langquist made a surprise comeback in 2018, released the album "The Door to Doom" in 2019, and successfully held his first solo performance in Japan in November. Their solo performance in 2024 was a great success, especially among their core fans, and they showed their true style as a legendary artist who pioneered doom metal.

●This time, ``Black Star'' is a work produced as an extension of the previous work ``Sweet Evil Sun'', which returned to its roots. It is attracting attention as a work that has returned to its roots, reminiscent of the masterpieces that established the genre, ``Epicus Doumicus Metallicus'' and ``Nightfall.''
