Metal calling again! A new album from US power metal legend Leatherwolf, the originator of triple guitar, released for the first time in 8 years!
Leatherwolf, who quickly gained attention with their melodic power metal with a European flavor during the heyday of LA Metal and won many fans, has released a new album for the first time in eight years after a long-awaited reunion! Formed in Huntington Beach, California, the band debuted with their first mini-album in 1984, selling their triple guitar.The following year, in 1985, they released a full-length album in the UK titled Endangered Species (also released in Japan by CBC Sony under the title ``Leatherwolf''), which received positive reviews, signed a contract with major label Island Records, and released their second album ``Leatherwolf'' (titled ``Metal Calling'' in Japan) in 1987. The promo video "The Calling" was frequently aired on MTV, making it a hit all over the world, and gaining great popularity here in Japan. In 1989, they released their 3rd album ``Street Ready'', and with a successful European tour, it seemed like they would solidify their position, but then the grunge boom that swept the world caused them to lose support from record companies, and members of the band changed and internal conflicts broke out.Although they continued to perform under the band name HAIL MARY, they ceased to release any albums. However, in response to the voices of fans who wanted a comeback, the group reunited with new members, including original members Dean and Jeff, and released the live album ``Wide Open'' in 1999, making a comeback to the scene.In 2006, they released their 4th album ``World Asylum'', and now, in 2022, their first new album in 8 years, ``Kill The Hunted'', will be released! During that time, there were frequent member changes, and the only member at the time of their debut was drummer Dean Roberts, and the rest joined after 2011, but even though the members have changed, the sound of LEATHERWOLF, which has been passed down continuously, remains unchanged. The humid power metal sound of yesteryear is still alive and well in this work. By the way, the bassist for this album is the talented Barry Sparks, who has played with MSG and Yngwie, and together with Keith Adamiak (vo), who joined in 2019, he breathed fresh air into the band, and the result was a masterpiece that exceeded fans' expectations!
