MAVERICK was created in 1991 by Katsuhiko Hotta. Even before their album debut, they attracted a lot of attention, appearing at festivals in Hong Kong and Germany, and finally released their first album, ``Maverick'' (2005), and their second album, ``Natural Born Steel'' (2012), which was recorded in Germany under the production of Pete Schielk and featured guest appearances by Kai Hansen and others, on SPIRITUAL BEAST. The songs, in which Hotta added unique melodies to a hard metal sound, surprised Japanese metal fans, and at the same time the band's status rose significantly. Hotta had a radio program called ``Heavy Metal Romance'' in his hometown of Sapporo, where he introduced bands both domestically and internationally and continued to send messages for 10 years.

Then, in April 2023, just as the band was about to resume its activities, Hotta suddenly fell ill with a disease called ``spinal cord infarction.'' ``Spinal cord infarction'' is an intractable disease in which blood vessels in the spinal cord become clogged, causing part of the spinal cord to die.There is no clear cure for this disease, with only a small hope remaining in stem cell therapy, which is not covered by insurance. Since this would require a huge amount of treatment costs, he appealed for crowdfunding, and this album was planned as a return.The sound sources of the first three demo tapes produced from 1994 to 2001 were remastered and compiled into one album, making it the first CD collection of rare sound sources, which was finally released to the general public!
