Sinsaenum is a death metal band led by Kreator bassist Frédéric Leclerc. The concept itself seems to have been around since the 20th century, but things took a big turn around 2013. The late Joey Jordison was informed of this project by Frederick, who was playing bass in DragonForce at the time, and proposed to be the drummer. With the addition of Mayhem vocalist Attila Čihar and others, Sinsaenum quickly took on the appearance of a superstar band. In 2016, she made her debut album with ``Echoes of the Tortured''. Their old-school death metal, reminiscent of Morbid Angel, which bears no resemblance to DragonForce, shocked many fans. The following year, in 2017, they released the ``Ashes'' EP, followed by their second album ``Repulsion for Humanity'' in 2018. Then, in 2019, Frederick joined Kreator and made a spectacular transition. Sinsaenum will release a new album for the first time in seven years.

This work is titled "In Devastation". With the participation of Mayhem's Attila Chihar and Dååth's Sean Zatorsky (Vo), they are still a superstar group, but Andre Joyzi, who replaced Joey Jordison who suddenly passed away in 2021, was his drum tech. The title, which means "In Despair," expresses Frederick's suicide after experiencing Joey's death and losing his beloved father. Of course, it is based on old school death metal, but this time it has a very ambitious finish that also shows a progressive side, such as introducing clean vocals and cello. A must-listen work if you like extreme metal, whether it's death, black, or thrash!
