Heathen is one of the bands representing the Bay Area thrash scene. Formed in 1984. They appeared a few years after the first generation of Bay Area artists like Exodus and Metallica, and made their debut album in 1987 with Breaking the Silence. Produced by Ronnie Montrose and featuring a cover of Sweet's ``Set Me Free,'' this album became a hot topic of discussion. However, after that, Heathen ran into trouble where the vocals, bass, and drums were missing, and they found themselves at a standstill. In the end, vocalist David White returned, and by the time they released their second album, ``Victims of Deception,'' four years had passed since their album debut. By that time, thrash metal was already in decline. Furthermore, after the release of their second album, bassist Randy Laird, who joined the band, suddenly died in a traffic accident, and the band disbanded in despair.

In 2001, after nearly 10 years of silence, Heaten reunited at a charity concert with Chuck Billy and Chuck Schuldiner. Since then, they have been performing live from time to time. In 2009, they released their third album, The Evolution of Chaos, their first in 18 years, to the delight of their longtime fans. In 2020, he released his fourth album, “Empire of the Blind.” It became a big topic here in Japan as well.

Heathen will be releasing a live album this time. After the release of ``Empire of the Blind,'' they spent their days touring, playing hundreds of shows on five continents. As soon as the lockdown was lifted in 2022, he toured the world with friends such as Testament and Exodus. ``Bleed the World: Live'' was born as the culmination of such activities. Recorded in U.S. cities during his 2023 Bleed the World Tour, the album features songs spanning his career, from new songs like "Sun in My Hand" and "The Blight" to classics like "Hypnotized" and "Goblin's Blade." The mixer was Christopher Harris, also known as Master Zeus. The clear and heavy sound captures the realism of the live performance.
