●Michael Monroe had a great influence on many rock musicians as the frontman of Hanoi Rocks.

His eponymous band will release 2022's "I Live to Fast to Die Young!" Released his first studio album since ”!

HANOI ROCKS, a legendary rock and roll band from the 1980s. After disbanding in 2009, it was announced in January 2010 that HANOI ROCKS frontman Michael Monroe (vocals, sax, harmonica) would form a new rock band. The members are full of unique personalities such as Sami Yaffa (bass, vo), an ally of HANOI ROCKS, Ginger (guitar, vo) of THE WiLDHEARTS, Todd Youth (guitar), who has played in DANZIG, etc., and Jimmy Clark (drums), who played with Michael and Sami in DEMOLITION 23. However, when they started rehearsing for the tour, Jimmy left the group. Todd recommended Carl Rockfist (ds, vo), who had played with him, and the band welcomed him.

However, Todd then left the band to join former KISS member Ace Frehley's band. Therefore, the band added Steve Conte (g, vo), formerly of NEW YORK DOLLS. Although the band was forced to change its lineup even before releasing their work, they released the live album ``ANOTHER NIGHT IN THE SUN'' in 2010, and came to Japan with ``SUMMER SONIC'' in the same year. Then, the week after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, they released the studio album ``SENSORY OVERDRIVE'' with Jack Douglas as producer. In June of the same year, they went on a Japan tour with HARDCORE SUPERSTAR.

However, shortly after that, Ginger left the group. As his replacement, BACKYARD BABIES' Dregen (g, vo) will join immediately. With a new lineup, they came to Japan for the third time at "V-ROCK FESTIVAL" in October of the same year.

In November 2011, ``SENSORY OVERDRIVE'' was named the album of the year at a music ceremony held by the venerable British rock magazine ``Classic Rock.'' Furthermore, in January 2012, MICHAEL MONROE was selected as Best Band and ``SENSORY OVERDRIVE'' was selected as Best Rock Album at the ``Emma Gaala'' music award, which is considered to be Finland's Grammy Award. In the spring of the same year, he received an offer to participate in L'Arc~en~Ciel's tribute album, and recorded and provided their song "Heaven's Drive."
In November 2012, recording of the new album began at a studio in Sweden. In February 2013, the band appeared as special guests at SLASH's concert in Finland. Then, in August, they finally dropped their first studio album after joining Dregen, ``HORNS AND HALOS''. Although a tour was held in conjunction with the album's release, Dregen was unable to accompany the tour after the Japan performance in November of the same year due to health reasons, and Rich Jones, who had been active with GINGER WILDHEART and others, took his place. After that, Dregen officially left MICHAEL MONROE due to the influence of restarting BACKYARD BABIES. Rich was settled in as a permanent guitarist.

With a new lineup, the band began writing new songs in 2014. In February 2015, we began recording in earnest in Sweden. That same month, Michael's beloved father passed away. While carrying this sadness, Michael recorded his vocals. And with that, the new album "BLACKOUT STATES" was completed. Released in early October. Then, just after the release, he toured Europe with HARDCORE SUPERSTAR. In 2017, he released the best album "THE BEST", which is a collection of songs by solo bands. They toured Japan in December of that year with this work, which also included the new song "One Foot Outta The Grave." In August 2019, he appeared on "SUMMER SONIC" for the first time in 9 years, and in October, released his first album in 4 years, "ONE MAN GANG". A Japan tour in support of this will also be held in December.

In June 2022, he released his long-awaited 5th studio album under the name MICHAEL MONROE BAND, ``I LIVE TOO FAST TO DIE YOUNG!''.
