Formed in the late 1960s, Status Quo went through a psychedelic period before establishing their unique boogie rock style. Beginning with ``Pictures of Matchstick Men,'' they went on to produce countless hits including ``Down Down,'' ``Rockin' All Over The World,'' and ``Whatever You Want,'' establishing themselves as Britain's national rock band. One of the bands with the most appearances on the UK Singles Chart, Status Quo are unique in British rock history in terms of their number of live shows, number of hits and consistency of style. Now, a new solo album by their singer and guitarist Francis Rossi has been released.

This work, titled ``The Accidental,'' differs from the acoustic lyricism and introspection that he has shown in his previous solo works, and explodes with an electric live sound. Although it is mature, it is by no means a gentle story. This album, which also features Status Quo's backbone John "Rhino" Edwards and Leon Cave, hits full blast right from the start.
