Neal Morse Band, the ultimate progressive rock outfit, is back. The long-awaited latest studio album “L.I.F.T.” since 2021’s “Innocence & Danger” has been released in Japan.

Neal Morse, Mike Portnoy, Eric Gillette, Bill Huber, and Randy George - these five members, who have been in a strong bond for more than 10 years, created this album in a period of major change and limited production time, and it is an ambitious work that imprints the most instinctive and vitality of NMB's sound.

"L.I.F.T." was produced in April 2025 in a short period of time, taking advantage of the small gap in Mike Portnoy's busy schedule due to his return to Dream Theater.

The songs, which make the most of improvisation and the band's chemical reactions, perfectly combine NMB's signature epic progressive rock with deep spiritual storytelling.

The album is a concept work that depicts a "spiritual hero's journey" of "connection," "disconnection," and "rebirth."

From the uplifting opening song ``Fully Alive,'' to the heavy number ``Hurt People,'' which sharply depicts the chain of pain, to ``Reaching,'' which reaches for hope through introspection and despair, the entire album is a drama that shakes the emotions and spirit.

Mixing was done by the familiar Rich Muser.

The arrangement is dense and dynamic, with a large amount of information, and Mike Portnoy's drums in particular have an overwhelming presence.

L.I.F.T.--its meaning is left to the listener.
