The Solitude from Finland. It was started over 30 years ago by Janne Parviainen of Ensiferum, but at that time it did not produce any work. That idea was revived with the help of friends like Mika “Gas Lipstick” Karppinen (ex-HIM, Kyyria), Aleksi Parviainen, and Ville Pelkonen. When many metal fans see the band name "The Solitude," they're sure to immediately recognize it. Their style pays deep respect to the great predecessors of classic doom such as Candlemass and Black Sabbath, but goes beyond mere homage and forges an entirely new path. It embodies a sound that is slow, heavy, and depicts the depth of human emotions.

The Solitude will now release their long-awaited debut album, ``The Sound of Absent Life.'' This work was recorded live on analog tape at Finland's legendary studio Finnvox Studios. He rejects digital perfectionism and captures the band's "live performance = real emotions" as they are. The album's worldview is an epic one that delves deeply into the shadows of themes such as sadness, faith, loss, and cosmic emptiness. Full of monumental riffs, expansive arrangements, and a profound melancholy, it combines the heaviness and delicacy that are at the heart of the genre. There are quite a few parts that are blatantly reminiscent of Candlemass' first album, and are sure to make Doom fans grin. This is a masterpiece with an organic and soulful sound that is rare in modern metal.
