The 4th reunion album of the legendary Swedish melodic death metal band ATG, their 8th album in about 5 years! This is the last work of vocalist Thomas, who passed away last year.

At the Gates are from Sweden and are known as the originators of melodic death metal. They disbanded in 1996 and reunited in 2014. The 4th reunion album produced with the return of original member Anders on guitar, and the 8th new album in total. This is the last work of vocalist Thomas, who passed away last year.

At the Gates was formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1990. They continued their activities through repeated member changes, and released their fourth masterpiece, ``Slaughter of the Soul'' in 1995. This album had a great influence on American and European heavy metal bands and became a bible in the metal scene, but unfortunately in July 1996 the band announced their disbandment. After that, brothers Jonas (B) and Anders (G) Bjöller, Adrian (Dr) formed The Haunted, and Thomas (Vo) joined Lock Up, etc., and each went their own way. In 2008, the members from the time they made "Slaughter of the Soul" held live-only reunion performances in various countries including Japan, and they felt a positive response. They held another reunion tour in 2010, and then finally began work on their fifth reunion album. In 2014, they announced their long-awaited comeback work "At War with Reality" after 19 years, and the following year, in 2015, they held solo performances, Loud Park performances, and two performances in Japan. In 2018, they welcomed old friend Jonas Stahlhammer (G) in place of Anders (G), released their second reunion album "To Drink from the Night Itself", and held their fourth performance in Japan in the same year. In 2021, they released their third reunion album (seventh album in total), “The Nightmare of Being.” In 2022, we held a complete reproduction live of "SLAUGHTER OF THE SOUL", which was canceled in 2020 due to the influence of the new coronavirus, at Download Festival Japan 22.

After that, original member Anders (G) returned and began production on the 4th reunion album (8th album in total), and the album was completed, but unfortunately Thomas (Vo) passed away on September 16, 2025. Thomas' final roar, ``The Ghost of a Future Dead,'' will be released. This work, which is Thomas's last work, features the melodious guitar solos of Anders, who has returned, and consists of songs that develop dramatically.
