First time out! And a treasured master with high sound quality! Another one of Eric Clapton's treasured live recordings is now available for the first time in the world! This is the world's first release and first bootleg. This master was provided by a trusted taper in the UK, and it is a master of shocking quality. This is the second and final leg of the "Backless Europe Tour" in the fall of 1978, recorded on December 6 at the Hammersmith Odeon in London in a clear, expansive stereo audience recording with excellent sound balance. Last week, we released a high-quality disc from the same tour, "Brussels 1978 Master Cassette (2CD)", in which I'll Make Love To You Anytime from the album "BACKLESS" was played as a part of the repertoire not available in the later shows only in the early stages of the tour. Love To You Anytime" from the album "BACKLESS" as a part of the repertoire that could not be heard in the later shows, and I told you that it was very valuable. However, the heavyweight master of the last half of the tour captured in this film is not only a genuine first appearance, but is even more shocking than that. The reason why the heavyweight taper has not released this master until now is probably due to the lack of 10:34 of Double Trouble and after 5:58 of Layla, frequent "sha" noises, and improper pitch and left-right balance. However, while the missing parts of Double Trouble were left as is, the missing parts of Layla after 5:58 were replaced by another source of the same day, which is inferior in sound quality, and equalized to make it as easy to listen to as possible, and the "sha" noise was corrected after listening to the entire recording, and the pitch was also corrected. The pitch was also corrected, and the left-right balance was adjusted as much as possible. The pitch was also corrected, and the left-right balance was adjusted as much as possible. The sound quality is far better than the audience recording of the final show of the tour in Guildford, which is famous for George Harrison and Elton John flying in from the past. We hope you will enjoy this historical sound source. The rare setlist and the sharpness of Clapton's playing are unique to the last half of the tour! First of all, let's review the topics of the year and how this European tour was positioned in Clapton's activities. February 1-April 19, 1978: U.S. tour ・June 23, 1978: Festival in Rotterdam, Holland with Bob Dylan Band ・July 1-July 15, 1978: Short European tour (including a festival appearance with Bob Dylan) ≪August-September 1978: Tour of the U.S. November 1, 1978: Release of the album "BACKLESS" ←★Coco★★ ・December 11, 1978: Jumped on stage at Muddy Waters' concert at Dingwall, London. December 11, 1978: Muddy Waters' concert in Dingwall, London. This was one of the shows during his European tour with his new album "BACKLESS", which was recorded by Glyn Johns, the same British producer, after the hit album "SLOWHAND" and released only two months after the album was finished. The tour was a great way to end the year and to promote the album. It was an important tour that closed out the year and contributed greatly to the promotion of the album. The tour was the brainchild of Clapton, who, fed up with the usual air travel, decided to give the tour a uniquely European twist by renting the famous Orient Express train to take in all the stops. Clapton was also happy to have his beloved bluesman Muddy Waters as the opening act. (Muddy also traveled on the same train.) The highlight of this tour was that the second guitarist, George Terry, who was with the band when the album was recorded, was fired, and the band was formed as a four-piece band, the same configuration as in the days of Derek & The Dominos. The fact that Clapton was now the only guitarist in the band meant that his importance to the performance had increased. The fact that Clapton himself was willing to take on this responsibility, despite his ongoing alcoholism, made this tour a remarkable one. It was later discovered that the set list was very different from the beginning of the tour to the end. As mentioned above, in the very beginning of the tour, many numbers from the album "BACKLESS" were played. From the midpoint of the tour, the number of songs from the album has been drastically reduced, and it has become more like a "regular tour" with old blues and repertoire from the previous tour. Even so, the band played three songs from "BACKLESS," including "If I Don't Be There By Morning," "Tulsa Time," and "Early in the Morning. What was also a fresh experiment was to bring Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever, a Stevie Wonder cover that The Band had in their repertoire, to open the show. It was only at the end of the tour that they played this song (so The Band was always in Clapton's mind). In this sense, we can say that the setlist of this album is one of the rarest of Clapton's live performances! Clapton was in great form on this day, regardless of his alcohol level. He played great solos on each song. Clapton's groove on "Crossroads" and his emotional playing on slow blues like "Double Trouble" and "Early in the Morning" are outstanding (better than "Just One Night," to be frank). played as the last number on the regular stage, as in a regular concert, but the solo in the postlude with the wah-wah is very tasteful. This is the first appearance of the sound source that has come over the time of 45 years, which can be said that the whole song is worth listening to. As a thank you for supporting Clapton both in the studio and live since 461 OCEAN BOULEVARD, during the stage, before the performance of Tulsa Time, "I dedicate this song to the band." As Clapton commented, this was the only time on this tour that he performed live with a four-piece band during the era when he used the "Tulsa Tops," all of whom were from Tulsa, Oklahoma. To add to that, it is drummer Jamie Oldaker who adds the nice chorus over Clapton's vocals on all the songs. Yes, while playing the drums. Up to now, there have been chorus members such as Yvonne Elliman, Marcy Levy, and George Terry, so I wondered who would be in charge of this four-piece, but I was not expecting it to be Aldaker. I was surprised to find that he was also very good at this. This is the first time that Clapton's career has been blessed with band members. Disc 1 (47:44) 1. Intro. 2.
