The ultimate master of the definitive Journeyman tour, the 1991 RAH 9-piece band soundboard recording from the Royal Albert Hall on February 17, 1991, The legendary "24 NIGHTS", which set a box office record in the U.K., was the second "Rock Night" with a 9-piece band, and the complete stereo soundboard aircheck recording of "PLAY WITH FIRE" was broadcast on BBC Radio at the time, It was a famous performance that produced many CD items such as "PLAY WITH FIRE", "PLAY WITH FIRE REVISITED", and "ZENITH". This series of performances was also the final leg of the Journeyman Tour, and was highly regarded as the culmination of the "Rock Night" stage. This is one of the most famous recordings of Clapton, and it is one of the most important recordings of Clapton's music, and should be owned by all Clapton fans. However, the previously released recordings had noticeable hissing noise, and the radio broadcasts had to be faded or supplemented with material from other performances to compensate for the cut sections between songs during the DJ's comments. This time, Graf Zeppelin has remastered this masterpiece from the original aircheck master! As a result, the hiss noise has been suppressed, the bandwidth balance has been optimized, and the phase has been properly corrected, resulting in a brighter sound quality and the best sound ever without the roughness that was felt in the guitar sound at the beginning of Layla. The bandwidth of another stereo soundboard recording from the same day was adjusted and patched in to fill in the cuts between songs and to replace the sound cut parts, thus eliminating any sense of incongruity. The phases backed by the ultra-clear sound quality are as follows. Clapton's vocals, guitar, East's bass, and Ferrone's drums: center East's vocals, Revell's organ, and Palmer's guitar: slightly right Philingains vocals, piano & synth, female chorus, and percussion: slightly left Clapton's rhythm guitar and Cooper's congas are clearly audible! Here we have the final version of a classic recording at its best! Here is Clapton at the peak of his career as a rock musician. It was a tough year. January 21-25: 4-piece band rehearsals at The Point, Hall, Dublin, Ireland for the upcoming "24 NIGHTS". February 5 - March 9: "24 NIGHTS" 24 consecutive nights at the Royal Albert Hall in London (during this period, rehearsals for "Blues Night" will be held on February 20 at Bray Studios in Berkshire). Rock Night (4-piece band): February 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11 Rock Night (9-piece band): February 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19 ←★here★ Blues Night: February 23, 24, 25, 27, 28, March 1 September 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 1991: Jumped into Buddy Guy's gig at the Roxy in Los Angeles. September 26, 1991: Nathan East was the house band leader for a comedy show recorded at The Palace in Hollywood. The show aired on the FOX channel on Sunday the 29th. December 1, 1991 - December 17, 1991: Clapton and his band backed George Harrison on his Japan tour. After the Journeyman World Tour the previous year and two consecutive years of hard work at the Royal Albert Hall, Clapton had planned to take a complete rest and enjoy life with his young son, Conor, now four years old. But then, on March 20, the incident occurred. The shock of the incident caused him to stop all activities for six months, and he spent his days in introspection. This film was shot on the 4th day of Rock Night, the 10th day of the successful "24 NIGHTS," which had been going well day after day before the tragedy. There was no way he could have predicted what would happen a month later, and he was at the height of his excitement to be on stage with his backing band, which he himself called "the best in the world" and whom he trusted. He was at the peak of his career, excited to be on stage with what he called "the best in the world," and there was not a trace of negativity in his life as he concentrated on his playing. He was a rock musician at the height of his powers. His guitar playing and singing exuded a confident energy. Of course, the guitar solos were improvised every day, so his playing is different from the official live recordings. Rock Nights" is a more luxurious version of the four-piece band that preceded "24 Nights," with a much thicker sound than the four-piece band (a second guitar, percussion, second keyboards, and backing chorus were added). The live take of the 9-piece band in 1991, released on the official "24 NIGHTS" disc, was the official recording of the following day, the 18th, so this album is not a duplicate of that one in any way. Therefore, you can enjoy Clapton's tremendous ad-libs and solos, which are different from those on the official recording. This album offers the "flow of the stage" that was lacking in the expanded version of the official box "DEFINITIVE 24 NIGHTS" released this year, which was composed of 4-piece and 9-piece recordings, and takes from 1990 and 1991, even for the same Rock Nights. The performances on this album are all gems that are as good as or better than those on the official box set, making this album a masterpiece of "24 NIGHTS. Six songs from the tour album "Journeyman" are included in the set: Pretending, No Alibis, Running On Faith, Bad Love, Before You Accuse Me, and Old Love. The band plays with vigor and gusto. The chalking in the solo of Bad Love is especially strong. The soul-stirring hand vibrato in "Old Love" is a must-listen. The changeable vibrato in "Before You Accuse Me" is reminiscent of the Stones' Midnight Rambler. Other highlights include Palmer's perfect copy of Clapton's original version of Cream's solo in the second solo of "Badge," and his rendition of Larry Graham & Central Station's "Thank You" in "Member Introduction. The prologue of Layla, A Remark You Made by Joe Zawinul of Weather Report, has a further prologue, which is an instrumental version that Dire Straits used to play live (probably the same instrumental version that he played at the same show the previous year), and the introduction to the original version of Cream that Clapton played. Sunshine Of Your Love features perhaps the most epic (spectacular?) live take of the song, with a drum and percussion solo, and a "live" version of the song, "A Remark You Made", with a "live" version of the same song.) The Sunshine Of Your Love is perhaps the most spectacular (spectacular?) live take of the song, with a drum and percussion solo and a call-and-response with the audience. With the success of the Rock Night, Clapton went on to perform the following Blues Night and Orchestra Night, completing a run of 24 consecutive shows with great success. The satisfaction he felt was probably the greatest of his career. However, one month later, the gods hit him in the bottom. Nevertheless, Clapton recovered after that, with the help of George Harrison's tour support, and through "Unplugged," he returned to the essence of the blues, his starting point. Clapton's look also changed from long hair and flashy clothes by famous designers to a simple outfit of T-shirt and jeans, short hair and glasses. It is as if to say, "I have lost the important things in my life, and I don't need any more pretense. Clapton was a great man when he reached that point, but the "radiant" Clapton captured in this film was also a great man when he was accomplishing something that no one else could do. Without a doubt, this was the peak of "Eric Clapton, the rock musician. We hope you will once again appreciate Clapton at the pinnacle of his career as a player, with this album, which has the best sound quality ever recorded. Compared to "ZENITH" Beano-061, which had a lot of hiss, this disc has had its bandwidth balance adjusted and its phase corrected. On the other hand, "9 PIECE BAND 1991: Volume 2" Beano-088, a later version of "ZENITH" Beano-061, seems to have been processed with slightly suppressed claps and high frequencies, and also the master has a rough sound in some places (easily recognized in the guitar at the beginning of Layla). Therefore, this version with brighter sound quality, adjusted hiss, and no roughness in sound is considered to be the best sound quality ever. In addition, the cut parts during and between songs and the sound cut parts were replaced with sub-sources from other branches and leaves, realizing the first complete recording of all the songs without any faking at all. *Past recordings have all had faked or missing parts faded out or replaced by another performance.
