When was the last time Eric Clapton, in a career spanning 56 years, sang and played like a god on stage? Fans may have different opinions, but the two that everyone agrees on are the Derek & The Dominos era and the "Nassin' But The Blues Tour," when Clapton played nothing but blues in his set lists. The latter was the culmination of Clapton's career as a blues musician. This tour was conducted worldwide from 1994 to 1995, and Japan was chosen as the last stop. This master release is a superb stereo audience source of the September 19 show at the Nassau Coliseum in the U.S., which is arguably the peak of the tour. Although this source has been circulating among some enthusiasts, it has never been released in Japan in a proper form. Recently, however, this source was uploaded to the Internet. The famous Krw_co, who supervised and transferred the original DAT master, uploaded the longest version (with a longer pre-show cheer part) and the best sound quality. However, the original DAT master contained a large missing part from 1:32 to 2:24 of "Someday After A While", which was probably caused by a tape change. This is the same as the previously distributed CD. Therefore, we thought it would be a waste of a superb source, so we replaced the missing part with a stereo audience source from the Milwaukee show of the same tour in 1994. The result is almost flawless and natural listening. This makes this disc perfect. During this tour, Clapton played the blues, which he said he found most relaxing, day after day, so there are many high-level sound and play quality recordings, The new release of this master, which was previously unreleased in Japan, will surely rank high on the list of the best recordings of this tour due to its high level of both sound and playback quality. Let's take a look at the full itinerary of the "Nothin' But the Blues Tour. <September 28, 1994: Video recording of tour rehearsal at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. October 3-November 4: U.S. Arena Tour November 7-November 28: U.S. Club Tour? 1995 February 15 - March 7: U.K. tour April 5 - May 5: European tour August 28 - September 24: U.S. arena tour? ←★This work★ October 1 - October 13: Japan Tour After the death of his young son in 1991 and the "unplugged" show that followed, Clapton decided to pursue the spirituality of the blues once again. This tour was his answer to that quest. The 1994 tour featured Andy Newmark on drums, but in 1995 he was replaced by Steve Gadd, but for the next two years Clapton concentrated on playing the blues. Clapton devoted himself to playing only blues for two years. This disc captures the final stage of the U.S. tour, just before the Japan tour. The band's unity was the strongest. The stage of this disc was captured in such a situation. Geetarz, a site that introduces bootlegs, gave the sound quality of this disc a score of "5" out of "6" points. You can see why I said "superb" at the beginning of this article. The sound quality is impeccable. We have mastered this high quality master to further polish it. The microphones used for the recording had some excessive mid-high frequency points that gave the overall impression of floating, including the vocals, so these were adjusted, and the overall sound pressure was unevenly distributed. We also adjusted the balance between the left and right channels, which were slightly different. In addition, the audience applause, which was a bit noticeable, was reduced to make it easier to hear. (The shuffling sound in the introduction of Before You Accuse Me was also reduced.) ) These measures have resulted in the creation of a truly superb sound quality disc. The setlist for the "Nassin' But the Blues Tour" was pretty much solid throughout the entire run. The setlist for the entire "Nassin' But the Blues Tour" was pretty much set in stone, with a sitting acoustic set that transitioned into a standing electric set, including a "Freddie King Corner" segment during the electric set with Clapton on an ES-335TD. As the tour progressed, the "heat" between Clapton and the band grew rapidly, and by the end of the set, the band was playing with such intensity and passion that it could be said that this tour was the most intense and passionate performance of Clapton's career, and that is why this tour is called the period in which he played and sang the most in his career. Of course, this show was no exception. The number of guitars used on stage was the most on this tour, with two Martin guitars, a dobro, a Gibson L-5 and a Birdland semi-acoustic, two ES-335s, and two Strats. The stage was so amazing and the quality of the playing was so great that every song could be called a highlight, but there was a surprising occurrence that day: at the end of "Have You Ever Loved A Woman" at 7:23, Clapton's amp suddenly stopped working! Clapton's amps suddenly stopped working at 7:23 of Have You Ever Loved A Woman! Clapton at this point threw his hands up in the air and struck a pose that said, "I've got you. I thought this would end the song on its butt, but a witty Gad improvised a drum solo to fill in the time until Clapton's amp was replaced, and then connected! Interesting! This rarely happens! And Gad's solo was very skillful! Clapton came back to the stage at the very end of the song and played the closing chord to end the song without incident. This is a rare occurrence during a long tour. In a sense, it is a master that is worth listening to just to hear this part of the song. Including such delicious parts, this disc is a superb one that allows you to experience Clapton's performance as much as possible. Clapton's performance of each song on Disc 2, which is the latter half of the disc, is especially amazing. Clapton playing acoustic ballads is great, but Clapton burning up with blues to this extent is the real Clapton.
