One more original master was provided by a heavyweight taper living in the UK! This DAT master is a very good stereo audience recording of the October 26th Barcelona show from the last leg of the 1998 world tour in Europe, which started at the same time as the release of the "PILGRIM" album, in perfect stereo. This master has never been released in Japan before, and the sound quality is superb. The sound quality is superb, and the artist's bootleg evaluation site Geetarz has given it a high rating of 5 out of 6 points. The DAT decks that were used frequently for recording during this period had a slight analog noise that was characteristic of the compatibility of the tapes, and this is because the master of this disc also has this noise (albeit only in a very small area). This is not a fatal flaw. However, this is by no means a fatal flaw. There have been many great sound sources released from the 1998 tour, including soundboard sources, but the value of this disc is not only the superb sound quality, but also the high quality performance in the main set and the encores, which are the most popular topics. The value of this disc is that in addition to the superb sound quality, Clapton fans will also appreciate the high quality performance in the main set and the encores that were the topic of discussion. Now, let's review the tour dates for this year. March 10, 1998 (worldwide release of "PILGRIM" album) - March 30 - April 26, 1998: First leg of American tour - May 11 - June 6, 1998: Second leg of American tour - September 5 - 18, 1998: Short U.S. & Canada tour October 13-December 11, 1998: European tour including the U.K. and Scandinavia ← [here] Since they had come to Japan the previous year, they did not tour Asia, but like their spirited album, this tour was almost on a world tour class scale. The reason why it was so spirited is that the album was dedicated to the memory of Clapton's young son, who died in an accident in 1991, and was the result of Clapton's reexamination of his own life. Since the album, which was filled mostly with his own compositions, was rich with introspective messages from Clapton, Clapton wanted to bring those messages to his fans around the world on the live stage by featuring songs from the album on that tour as well. This is evidenced by the fact that he played six consecutive numbers from the album from the opening night. Clapton's engine is at full throttle on these six songs, playing with even more passion and emotion than on the studio versions. In order to make this part of the tour more expressive than the original versions of the songs on the album, Clapton has recruited Andy Fairweather Lowe and Alan Darby (ex-Asia) as side guitarists, creating a triple-guitar system (plus double keyboards that give the songs an unparalleled depth of sound). (Plus, the double keyboards give the band an outstanding depth of sound). After the break, the band moved on to a quiet acoustic set, as if to cool themselves down. Returning to the electric set, Clapton played "Old Love," which was the height of emotion, interspersed with lengthy solos by the two keyboardists. It seems that the recordist changed the tape at this point, and there was a cut at 10:59, but our engineers were able to make the connection sound natural by crossfading the beats (and the entire song sounds stable and seated, not lively and floaty). (The engineers also did a lot of mastering to make the entire album sound stable and seated, without sounding too lively and buoyant). The rest of the set was a series of hits and classics, culminating in Cocaine. The encore of the night had a special topic. Bonnie Raitt, a leading female blues slide guitarist, joined the band on the spot. The song chosen was "Rollin' and Tumblin'! Clapton himself had played this song on "Unplugged" in 1992, but it was the first time he played it on electric guitar since Cream (after 30 years). Of course, Layette's slide solo is featured, and Clapton intertwines with it. You can see the fun session going on in their hands. This is a superb recording of a day that has never been released before. And this performance is really great! In addition, Bonnie Raitt, who has performed with Clapton only a few times in his career, jumps in. The quality and content of this master is as good as you would expect from a master taper who has a great deal of experience in this field. In addition to this, you can also feel the wonder of our mastering. Live at Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona, Spain 26th October 1998 TRULY AMAZING/PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (63:31) 1.
