Legendary artist Eric Clapton is currently on a campaign to visit Japan. This is the original stereo audience source from April 15, the second day of the five consecutive Budokan shows in 2019. The master for this disc is of course a different master recorded by a different person than "BUDOKAN 2019 DAY 2" and is the first generation master that we independently obtained. What surprised me when I listened to it was that this master sounded as good as the released title. The clarity, sound balance, power, and stereo feel were all of high quality. The taper was recorded in Block A4. The taper was recorded in Block A4, the very front block of the arena. There was no way it could be bad. No wonder the quality should have been equal to "BUDOKAN 2019 DAY 2". As I mentioned in my review of "BUDOKAN 2019 DAY 2," on the second day, the electric Layla, which was played for the first time in 10 years on the first day, was replaced by an unplugged Layla, killing the fans' expectations, but Clapton, as expected, raised the quality of his performance even higher and satisfied us. The performance quality was even better and the audience was satisfied with it. Clapton's solo on "Pretending" started off with a bang, and he played fast and furious. Wanna Make Love To You, which was his first set in 30 years, was also a wonderful solo, full of songfulness and fluidity. Clapton also played a fast and furious solo on "Hocchie Coochie Man," and in the latter part of "I Shot The Sherff," he unusually stepped out of the wah pedal and played a wild solo. Clapton showed no signs of "deterioration" due to old age, and his performance was as good as it was 10 years ago when he last played on the electric Layla. Compared to the first day, the performance was clearly more cohesive and his voice sounded better. The fingers were definitely working better, too. The second half of the show returned to the pattern of the last few years, with an encore of Paul Carrack's High Time We Went, but don't be disappointed. The quality of the playing on this day was outstanding. Of all the 5 shows in Japan, I would say that the quality of the performance was the best on this day. Just for fun, Clapton's introduction to the unplugged Layla featured a phrase from a classic Beatles song interspersed throughout the song (see the last part of this review for the correct name). Some rock fans in the audience quickly noticed this and cheered. In addition, this intro also included the original version of the seven-string phrase. This was quite an unusual pattern. This is another reason why Clapton can be enjoyed on a daily basis.
