Eric Clapton, Japan Tour 2019.The Evolution release continues! This disc features the complete stereo audience recording of the third day of the tour, April 17, in superb stereo. This is the original master that we have newly acquired directly from the recording artist. We have already released a high quality disc "Budokan 2019 Day 3 (2CD)", but this is a completely different master and the recording position is Arena B Block Center. I can assure you that this disc is the best sound quality for this third day later on. Now, let's take this opportunity to review the dates of this Clapton concert. We will also include our release titles for each day.13 April 2019 - "Budokan 2019 1st Night (2CD)", "Budokan 2019 Day 1 (2CD)", "Budokan 2019 Day 1 New Masters (4CD)", "Budokan 2019: The 1st Show (2CD)" 15 April 2019 - "Budokan 2019 Day 2 (2CD)", "Budokan 2019: The 2nd Show (2CD)" 17 April 2019 - "Budokan 2019 Day 3 (2CD)" ← [This work] 18 April 2019 - "Budokan 2019 Day 4 (2CD)" 20 April 2019 - "Budokan 2019 Day 5 (2CD)" "Budokan 2019: The Final Show (2CD)" This third day will go back to the first day setlist again, partly after the second day, so The third day was expected to return to the setlist of the first day after the second day. However, as expected, the setlist was the same as on the second day. The setlist seemed to be fixed here, and although Electric Layla was not played, it was a day that presented a consistent quality of play with no surprises, just like the second day. However, the opening Pretending, with its off-kilter finger-picking intro and mediocre solo, had fans worried about what would happen today. Her voice wasn't very good either. He finally got into his stride with a passionate solo on "Wanna Make Love to You," an outtake from the album "AUGUST," whose rare selection of songs has been a big hit among the fans. The postlude to "I Shot the Sheriff" is a songful phrase that gets the crowd going. This is a relief. At the beginning of the acoustic set, "Hi, are you having fun?" to the audience at the beginning of the acoustic set, and the acoustic set proceeded smoothly and joyfully. At the end of this section, he continued to play unplugged Layla, as he had done on the second day. Some sources say that he had to change to unplugged because of a blister on his left finger on the first day, while others say that he said that electric Layla was a difficult song that drained his energy. Regardless, it is true that unplugged Layla is also great. In the latter half of the set, Clapton played an energetic solo on "Crossroads" that seemed to be Clapton's own sky-high style, and he overwhelmed the audience with a bluesy rendition of "Little Queen of Spades" that really got to the heart of the audience. At the end of the main set, he played Cocaine with a groove. The middle solo showcased wah play with a nuance that only Clapton can deliver. The encore was High Time We Went sung by Paul Carrack, as has been the trend in recent years, but to my surprise, the solo here was the sharpest of the day, as he stepped on the wah-wah and exploded into a phrase that I thought was the sharpest of the day. Normally, I would have let him off lightly due to fatigue, but.... But Clapton, as expected! He makes you listen. Thinking of it that way, every song is worth listening to (in a way, the instability of the opening song is also intriguing). The third day in the best sound quality is not bad either. After having experienced the first day and the last day in the best sound quality, please enjoy the middle day, the third day, in the best sound quality.
