Following the first, last, and third days of Eric Clapton's Japan Tour 2019, we are releasing the fourth day of the tour, Thursday, April 18, in a superb sound disc! We have already released a 2CD "Budokan 2019 Day4" of the same day within a week after the show, but the master of this disc is our original master recorded by a famous taper and is a stereo audience source that surpasses the high sound quality of the original master. You will agree that the clarity, sound balance, musical grain, stereo feel, and power of the drums are of high quality. The recording is definitely from the front of Arena A block. On the fourth day, the setlist had settled down and Clapton and the band were finally presenting a rock-solid playing quality. The highlight of the set is the opening "Pretending," with two smooth and thrilling solos that make full use of the wah. The song is also a hidden masterpiece, Wanna Make Love To You, which is also a melancholy song, and many of you may have paid attention to this song and re-listened to the studio version after listening to the high-quality audio titles on this release (included in the 4CD box "CROSSROADS ). The high point of this performance of the same song on this day is that you can hear Clapton's typical hand vibrato that seems to move the heart. The following solo on "I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man" was also very thrilling! I Shot the Sheriff, the highlight of the first half of the show, was sung with great power, and the postlude was probably the best of the five shows in terms of its unique phrase structure and the way it was enlivened. In the acoustic set that followed, Clapton played firmly, calmly, and tightly. The second half of the electric set is also rock-solid, with Clapton's first tone miss on the bridge arpeggio of "Badge" being a charm. It's a rare scene in a way, but Clapton pulls it off, and while I thought he was going to end up with a mediocre solo, Clapton is there at the end of his solo to fire it up beautifully. Crossroads, which started with a long intro peculiar to this day, Little Queen of Spades, where the soloing between the members was played with more poise than usual, and Cocaine, which was a climax suitable for the finale, showed more than averageness. The quality of play was above average for each number. Clapton's closing solo in Little Queen of Spades was especially great. And in the middle solo of Cocaine, Clapton's playing including hand phrases is very impressive. I haven't heard such a hot Cocaine solo in a while! In the encore solo of High Time We Went, Cocaine plays with a wah pedal, which is rare in this song. In general, there were few mistones, and I would say that this was a day of high playing quality. The cheers and applause at the end of the show were captured realistically, and even the announcement over the public address system was recorded at the end of the show. The entire recording conveys that the stage was not bad on this day. This is the definitive version of the 4th day performance. This is the only one and only one of its kind, as it was recorded from the original new master.
