The must-have label for Beatles fans has released a series of titles summarizing all of George's material from his solo career. Here is the first in the series. Disc 1 of this title begins with an alternate take of "You. The song that opens the album "George Harrison's Empire" is recorded here in an alternate take from a session with Ronnie Spector in February 1971. And tracks 2 and 3 contain rough mixes of both sides of the single "Bangladesh". Other tracks include a guitar demo of "Sue Me Sue You Blue" and outtakes from the "Dark Horse" and "33 & 1/3" albums. Also included is "Pirate Song," a black joke number that George wrote when "My Sweet Lord" was under suspicion of plagiarism, in which the intro is "My Sweet Lord" but the song is completely different. Disc:2 includes outtakes from the "George Harrison" album, "Far Far Away England" and "Gone Troppo," as well as studio demos of "Life Itself" and "I Don't Want To Do It. In particular, "Shelter In Your Love," recorded in 1985, makes its first appearance on the album, and the last track, "Jonny B Goode," recorded at the Heartbeat Concert on March 15, 1986, was introduced by former Beatle... The last time he was introduced as "Jonny B Goode" at the Heartbeat Concert on March 15, 1986, he was greeted with cheers from the audience, which gave me goosebumps.
