This is a good audience recording of the August 26, 1971 performance in Aarau, Switzerland. The sound image has a vintage feel, and although it lacks directness, the sound is not muffled and the freshness is very good, allowing for a stress-free listening experience. The tape has not deteriorated and there is no distortion in the sound image, which suggests that the master tape has been kept in very good condition. Although the sense of separation is lacking, the high frequencies are natural and beautiful, and there are moments when you are moved by the delicate and present sound of Max Middleton's piano. The sound localization is very stable for a recording of this era, and there are no cracks in the sound, making for a very pleasant listening experience. Of course, Jeff's playing is also clearly audible, which is a must for fans of the band. Kozy's drumming is also very detailed and stylish, and the short drum solo that bridges the gap between Jody and Ice Cream Cakes is sure to move anyone who hears it. The pitch, which was high in the original version, has been adjusted and the fuzziness has been reduced to the extent that it does not affect the original sound. Of course, the track gaps have also been adjusted. This is a high-quality and very valuable recording that is well worth adding to your collection, not only for Jeff fans, but also for those who consider themselves to be fans of British rock.
