John's solo career-defining Imagine was released on CD in 1987, at about the same time in the US, Europe (including the UK), and Japan. 87 was the year that The Beatles' The year 87 was the year when the CD version of the Beatles' "The Beatles' Songs" was released. Some of you may remember that it was released at the same time as the Beatles' CD release. The first pressing of Imagine in the UK and Europe was made in Japan. Such a credit is extremely rare. The Beatles' albums also have Japanese pressings, but they can only be identified by the TO stamp at the end of the matrix, whereas this Imagine disc has an impressive credit. Immediately after its release, the pressing was changed to EMI's Uden plant. The album's characteristic warmy sound can be heard on this CD. Starting with "Imagine" and ending with "Oh Yoko," this album is still a classic. George also participated on 5 songs. Of course, it is hard to find now.
