The masterpiece soundboard that was the symbol of the "HOTTER THAN HELL Tour" has been upgraded! The longest and highest peak of the tour is now being released on CD from the newly discovered master recordings made through an original route. This is a stereo soundboard recording of the October 21, 1974 East Lansing concert. The stereo soundboard recording of the 1974 show is the classic "Torronto September 1974," but this is a slightly different time period. TORONTO SEPTEMBER 1974" and "MEMPHIS 1974 2ND NIGHT" were the "KISS Tour", but this is the "HOTTER THAN HELL Tour". This is the 5th show of "North America #4a" which is the "HOTTER THAN HELL Tour". It was also the day before the release of "HOTTER THAN HELL". This show has been known for a long time as a classic show with a very thick soundboard. This is the same soundboard, but it is an upgraded master that was brought to us through a unique party route. The opening and closing scenes are a few dozen seconds longer each, making it the longest ever, but that is only evidence of the original master. The key is the sound that runs through the entire show. The original master was a powerful soundboard directly connected to the mixing console, but this master is even more vivid and clear! The live performance is still the same in the field mix, but the ensemble, which had been stuck in the center, is now much wider, and the sense of separation has been improved. The guitars, vocals, and even the bass guitar attacked with a crisp and clear sound. I had thought that KISS, which has many officially archived masters in the past, could pass as an "excavated official level," but this is an "official masterpiece level" that can stand on its own as a stand-alone work. What is depicted in this upgraded sound is the live performance of 974, a year in which the band was growing and changing day by day. It may seem natural that the set is different from that of "TORONTO SEPTEMBER 1974" from the "KISS Tour," but it is actually the same as the "HOTTER THAN HELL Tour" "SAN FRANCISCO JANUARY 1975", which is also on the "HOTTER THAN HELL Tour".
