The "Rockpalast" appearance is known as one of the major highlights of the "ZENYATTA MONDATTA" era. This 3-disc set couples the best masters of the soundboard album and pro-shot footage. This set includes two superb recordings of one show. The stereo soundboard recording of "October 18, 1980 in Essen" is on DISC 1-2, and the multi-camera pro-shot is on DISC 3. In 1980, they appeared at "Rockpalast" twice, and each tour was different from the other. To put this in perspective, let's look back at the schedule from that time. The first was in Hamburg in January 1980, the middle of the "REGGATTA DE BLANC Tour", and the second was in Essen in October 1980, just after the release of "ZENYATTA MONDATTA". This film is the latter. This show was organized by the band itself as an event rather than just a part of the tour. The show was broadcasted on FM and TV, and has become a major record of the tour. This is a set of the best master recordings of the FM and TV broadcasts. The quality is "semi-official" or "official" level. The mix and the screen look like analog broadcasts, but on the other hand, the noiseless freshness of the masters is really beautiful. It is just the kind of quality that one would expect to find in an official box set or Dela Edi bonus disc. It is also a common misconception that "the live album version is a sound cut from the video". This album version is not a sound cut from a TV broadcast, but a different FM radio version, and the mix is also different. This is the full set of the "ZENYATTA MONDATTA Tour" in such quality.
